Holy Cross continues its tradition of offering exceptional, comprehensive, compassionate care through the Neurological and Spine Institute, which provides the latest and greatest in technology in the best service of patients. Patients with neurological disorders are cared for by teams of expert clinicians and specialty board-certified physicians, highly trained and skilled nurses, specialty-registered technicians, and ancillary support staff.
The latest in technology
Holy Cross now offers cutting-edge technology including state-of-the-art neuro-imaging. As one of the select few Florida hospitals with the 3 Tesla MRI, our medical team can see abnormalities that go undetected by less sophisticated scanners. We can obtain contrast images without injecting contrast agents. This advanced technology also allows us to see direct activation of brain areas, enabling us to make precise diagnoses in the areas of stroke, tumors, epilepsy and spine disorders.
Our 256-slice CT scanner allows us to perform a brain study in 0.04 seconds, further minimizing patient exposure to radiation. We can now obtain 3D images including “heart-to-brain” vascularization images. In combination with our latest 3D angiogram scanner, this technology further enhances our neuro-interventional management of acute stroke, aneurisms and vascular malformations.
Another bonus of our technology: patients with illnesses that include involuntary movements get better imaging because the scanner takes images rapidly and thoroughly.
The Neurological and Spine Institute brings together a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to improving patient care.
